Tired of looking at your bathroom everyday? You don't need to fully renovate the room to love it again! Adding a few new features or a splash of colour to your suite can bring it back to life and create the relaxed, welcome feeling everyone wants in a bathroom. Take a look at a few examples below:

Smart Features

Home automation is no longer a futuristic feature you see in sci-fi movies. It is more attainable now and can be extremely useful and easy to use. Features include smart toilets, which have seat warmers and sometimes even built-in speakers. A smart mirror can tell you the weather forecast, the daily news, etc. – it’s like a large smart phone on your bathroom wall! Smart showers are more efficient as you can pre set the water temperature and shower duration through your smart device, giving you the perfect shower every time. These features put you in control and make it easier to manage your home.

Asymmetric Bathtubs

A freestanding, asymmetric bath can create a spa-like feeling in your bathroom. These baths are sculpted with clean lines and have a luxurious design, making it feel like you’re in a calm and peaceful spa.

These kinds of baths are beautiful and modern but if you are thinking of buying one, you must consider the size of your bathroom as they take up more space than a traditional bath.

Tub Nook

A traditional tub can still be as luxurious if you have a more compact space or if you don’t like the look of a freestanding tub. A tub nook takes a traditional tub and gives it a cosier atmosphere.

Aside from its purpose of being a place to clean yourself, bath is a place of escape. A tub nook is a relaxing escape that looks chic. Add levels to your bathroom and make the space appear bigger by adding a step up to your bath. The nook creates a separate section to the bathroom full of relaxation and warmth.

Double Vanity

Double vanities have always been a popular feature in bathrooms, especially a shared one. There are a few new variations of this trend which may interest you if you have some extra space in your bathroom.

The first is a double ‘single’ vanity, where you could install two single sinks or counters side by side. This gives the a ‘his and hers’ feel while also giving you your own space. Another trend is the double vanity island. It’s usually a large counter in the middle of the bathroom with sinks facing each other and space still leftover on the countertops.

Colourful Tiling

While pastel coloured baths and toilets are not as common as they used to be, the popularity of colourful tiling is on the rise. People are adding personality and authenticity to their homes and a splash of colour in the bathroom is becoming increasingly trendy.

You could use heavy patterned tiling or small mosaics to add colour and character to your home. Hexagon tiles in a herringbone pattern add depth to a plainer bathroom wall. Whatever style you choose, having fun with your design and choosing bold colours and playful patterns will make your bathroom your own.

Black Features

Black features could include a black basin or bath in your suite that will give it a bespoke look. Black-framed screens are simple but still have that dark, chic aura. Dark tiling or a black feature wall is another popular idea to add. A moody palette is particularly trendy at the moment, giving your bathroom a luxurious, gothic look.

Adding a pop of colour in the form of flowers or accessories can lift the room if you have the fear that it may be too dark.
